Job summary

DEPT® is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to recruit for a portfolio of our clients directly, working in-house with the broader Delivery and Client teams to source and place top talent in creative and digital roles.   • Experience in setting up, preparing, and conducting candidate phone screenings.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.

JOB PURPOSE

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be dedicated to recruit for a portfolio of DEPT® clients directly, we call this ‘In-House’ recruitment. You will work closely with our Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, Client Partner, Delivery teams and directly with our clients, you will effectively source and recruit top talent to be embedded into our clients team.

As candidates' first point of contact, you represent DEPT®'s culture, and are responsible for ensuring a positive candidate journey throughout the recruitment process. Partnering with hiring teams to understand role requirements, share regular hiring updates, and provide market insights.

In-house recruitment requires speed and therefore, maintaining a talented candidate pool is vital. You will have a keen eye for talent and an ability to devise and implement effective and creative sourcing strategies. You will also have the opportunity to input into process improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage key relationships with our clients and in-house client service team.
  • Review applications, screen resumes, and assess candidates' qualifications for various positions within the organization.
  • Conduct thorough phone screenings to evaluate candidates' skills and experience.
  • Guide candidates through the entire recruitment process, providing timely updates, feedback, and support.
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers and management teams to understand their recruitment needs and align candidate profiles accordingly.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and extending offers to successful candidates.
  • Devise and implement effective strategies to attract passive candidates, ensuring a steady pipeline of high‑quality talent.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date candidate records and documentation in our applicant tracking system.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Previous experience in a recruitment or talent acquisition role, with success in attracting and selecting top talent in the creative or digital industry.
  • Experience in setting up, preparing, and conducting candidate phone screenings, ensuring a thorough assessment of candidates.
  • Able to manage internal and external stakeholders, and ensure a smooth hiring process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders, such as hiring managers and operational directors.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage priorities, and attention to detail, ensuring a smooth and efficient recruitment process.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems and other recruitment tools to manage candidate data and streamline processes.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $65,000 – $70,000 CAD. Salary is based on relevant experience, expertise, and organizational impact.
