Job summary

Conestoga College is seeking an Accessibility Advisor to support students with disabilities within the Accessible Learning Services team. You will review documentation, assess impact on learning, and determine the College's duty to accommodate.

The role involves creating accommodation plans and guiding students, faculty, and staff through policies and procedures, with a hybrid on-campus/remote work arrangement at the Doon campus in Kitchener.

Qualifications

• Four-year bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Three years of experience in disability services supporting individuals with disabilities are required; post-secondary experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, and related legislation in post-secondary context.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to facilitate workshops and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Collect and evaluate documentation to establish eligibility for accommodations.
• Advise students on rights, responsibilities, and procedures for accommodations.
• Develop individualized Letters of Accommodation aligned with policies and legislation.
• Support students in applying recommendations from psycho-educational and neuro-psychological assessments.
• Coordinate referrals and cross-functional team support for student success.
