Job summary

Conestoga College seeks a Temporary Part-Time Recreation Attendant to oversee recreational programs and facilities at the Doon campus in Kitchener. This on-site role supports peak student engagement hours and collaborates with Athletics and Recreation staff to ensure safe, welcoming activities for students, employees, and community members.

You will supervise student staff, handle equipment setup and maintenance, promote programming, and respond to issues during weekends.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma in related field required.
• Minimum one year of practical experience in a similar recreational or customer service environment.
• Knowledge of recreation equipment, setup, maintenance and safety requirements.
• Ability to monitor facility conditions and escalate issues as needed.
• Experience supporting recreational programming, events or facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recreational programs and facilities during peak hours.
• Coordinate with student staff and coaches on equipment and setup.
• Perform facility maintenance and cleaning following supervisor guidance.
• De-escalate situations and provide customer service.
• Liaise with department admins regarding issues during evenings/weekends.
• Support development of training materials and seasonal programs.
