Job Description

As a Junior Security Technician at Ozz Electric Ltd., you will be responsible for the installation, programming, testing, and servicing of various security systems, including access control systems, intrusion alarms, E-com, DAS, Fiber/Copper Networks, and surveillance systems. You will work on projects of varying complexity, ranging from small to large scale, ensuring systems are installed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing various electrical equipment including sub-panels and transformers, lighting, raceway systems, heating and cooling systems, and motors
• Measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit
• Pulling wire through conduit
• Testing circuits to ensure integrity and safety
• Ensuring maintenance of tools, equipment, and personal protection equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of experience working with security systems, including access control and CCTV systems.
• Experience with security brands such as ICT, 2N, UNV, Axis, Avigilon, Kantech, Keyscan, or similar systems is preferred.
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to work with hand tools and standard test instruments.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
• Valid security systems installer license or working to acquire.
• Manufacturer certifications (ICT, 2N, Avigilon, Kantech, Keyscan, etc.) are an asset.
• IP networking experience is highly valued.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A valid BC driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
• Familiarity with using Microsoft Office and other documentation software (Adobe, Excel, Smartsheet, Bluebeam) is a plus.
