Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) seeks a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of mechanics and apprentices, Monday to Friday, bi-weekly days and afternoons. You will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance across our fleet.

You will supervise licensed 421A technicians, oversee repairs, diagnose systems, and implement preventative maintenance in a dynamic outdoor environment. CMMS experience and a proactive mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (asset).
• Proven supervisory experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Proactive problem-solving with focus on continuous improvement.
• Physically fit for demanding outdoor environments.
• CMMS experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of licensed 421A mechanics, apprentices, and technicians.
• Oversee daily repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a wide range of heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with accuracy.
• Conduct inspections and implement preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Support scheduling, prioritization, and planning with Maintenance and Operations teams.
• Lead Monthly Safety Inspections and promote a safety-first culture.
• Utilize CMMS (Maximo) for work orders, reporting, and tracking.
• Organize shop environment, tools, inventory, and parts.
• Provide clear direction and delegate tasks to maximize productivity.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to lead our team of mechanics and apprentices Monday to Friday, on a bi-weekly rotation (days and afternoons). This hands‑on leadership role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance practices across our fleet.

What you’re responsible for

• Supervise and mentor a team of licensed 421A mechanics, apprentices, and experienced technicians
• Oversee daily repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for a wide range of heavy equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with efficiency and accuracy
• Conduct inspections and implement preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
• Support task scheduling, work prioritization, and planning in collaboration with the Maintenance Team and Operations Team
• Lead Monthly Shop Supervisor Safety Inspections and promote a culture of safety-first
• Utilize CMMS (Maximo) for work order management, reporting, and maintenance tracking
• Organize and maintain the shop environment, including tools, inventory, and parts
• Provide clear direction and delegate tasks effectively to maximize team productivity

Qualifications
