Job summary

Strike Group is seeking an Apprentice Pipefitter for a camp project in British Columbia. You will support and work with journeypersons to install and commission piping systems at Mount Bracey Compressor Station, Prince George area.

You’ll operate outdoors in a safety-focused environment, with 14 days on and 7 days off, plus travel allowances and camp retention payments. Qualified candidates are registered as a 3rd year apprentice and must hold H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 (CSO/BSO not accepted).

Qualifications

  • Must be a registered 3rd year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain valid H2S Alive and CSTS 2020.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Assist journeyperson pipefitters with installation of equipment and piping on site.
  • Assemble piping and valves in modules and compressor packages.
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging.
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools.
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe as required.
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
  • Replace worn components and reactivate systems.

Job description

Position Summary

Apprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.

Position Summary

PROJECT DETAILS

Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station

Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)

Shift: 14 days on / 7 days off

Travel Allowance: $400/shift

Camp Retention: $25/day

Core Accountabilities
  • Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc.)
  • Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on site
  • Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems
Qualifications

  • Must be a registered 3rd year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority
Training
  • Must have or be willing to obtain valid H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 or PST tickets - CSTS 09 and CSO/BSO will not be accepted
