Job summary

Strike Group is seeking an Apprentice Pipefitter to support on-site installation and maintenance of pipe systems and related equipment in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. You will work under journeypersons to lay out and install piping, valves, and supports, ensuring safety and quality on industrial projects.

The role requires active apprenticeship, CSTS/H2S certifications, and physical capability for outdoor work, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered as a 3rd or 4th year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 tickets.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID's).
  • Assist journeyperson pipefitters with installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on site.
  • Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages.
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging.
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility.
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape.
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.

POSITION SUMMARY

Apprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. Employees are expected to support and participate in a "culture of safety" and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike's Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.

PROJECT DETAILS
  • Based out of Fort Saskatchewan, AB
  • Travel for projects as required
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
