Key Responsibilities of a 310T Diesel Mechanic:
- Perform vehicle inspections, troubleshooting, and testing to determine repairs
- Diagnose and repair engine failures, mechanical and electrical systems, and replace parts
- Evaluate vehicles for safety and service needs
- Verify vehicle serviceability and conduct test drives
- Maintain cleanliness of customer vehicles during repairs
- Manage costs using warranty and evaluate repair options
- Communicate with service advisors and dispatchers about additional work
- Assist in writing work orders and interacting with customers
- Keep inventory of parts and supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Document all work performed accurately
- Stay updated on automotive terminology and technology
- Adhere to attendance, punctuality, and company policies
Requirements for a 310T Diesel Mechanic:
- High school diploma or GED
- Provincial License such as Red Seal / 310T, in good standing
- Specialized training and experience in diagnosing major components
- OEM training preferred
