Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Hamilton, Ontario, is seeking a 310T Truck & Coach Technician at our Stoney Creek Peterbilt location. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks, trailers, coaches, and buses in our shop environment.

Ideal candidates are certified journeymen with experience on CAT, Cummins, and PACCAR engines, strong electrical diagnostic skills, and a focus on safety and customer service. This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyperson in Truck & Coach trade or equivalent asset.
• Experience with CAT, Cummins, and PacCAR engines.
• Experience with electrical diagnosis and aftertreatment systems.
• Previous shop experience and commitment to customer service.
• Ability to communicate with engineers, service team, and branch staff.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate working condition, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, repair and maintain road equipment.
• Order parts and document work orders accurately.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
• Use computer systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
• Collaborate with engineers on warranty requirements.
• Adhere to safety standards and use tools properly.

Brandt is currently seeking a 310T Truck & Coach Technician for our Stoney Creek Peterbilt location. This position is responsible for the diagnostics, repair and maintenance of trucks, trailers, coaches, and buses in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair on road equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Work with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
• Other duties as assigned

What We Look For

• Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach technician trade or equivalent designated trade considered an asset
• Experience in CAT, CUMMINs and PACCAR engines considered an asset
• Experience with electrical diagnosis /troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
• Previous mechanical experience in a shop environment is considered an asset.
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
• Outstanding knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems
• Proven computer/ technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work
• Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs
• Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure
• Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
