Job summary

Brandt is seeking a 310T Truck & Coach Technician at our Ottawa Peterbilt location. This role focuses on diagnostics, repair and maintenance of trucks, trailers, coaches, and buses in a shop environment.

The ideal candidate is a certified journeyperson with strong electrical diagnostic skills and a commitment to customer service, safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

  • Must be a certified journeyperson in the truck & coach trade or equivalent designation
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis and aftertreatment systems is an asset
  • Strong communication and customer service focus required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment
  • Proven diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical systems

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain trucks, trailers, coaches and buses in a shop
  • Document all unit information, actions taken, and time spent on work orders
  • Use instruments, tools and computer systems to diagnose and service equipment
  • Road test equipment and verify repairs as required
  • Work safely and according to standards and company policies

Description

Brandt is currently seeking a 310T Truck & Coach Technician for our Ottawa Peterbilt location. This position is responsible for the diagnostics, repair and maintenance of trucks, trailers, coaches, and buses in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble and repair the on road equipment efficiently and effectively
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely
  • Use related instruments, hand/power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately document on work orders all unit information, actions taken, and time spent
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Work with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements
  • Road test equipment and verify repairs as required
  • Other duties as required
What We Look For
  • Previous mechanical experience in a truck and coach environment is required
  • Certified Journeyperson in the truck and coachtechnician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical &electrical systems
  • Proven computer/ technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understandmechanical and technical equipmentrepair needs
  • Strongtime-management skillsto perform effectivelyunder pressure
  • Strong communication skills,showinganappreciation of customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • A commitment to high quality customer service
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
