Job summary

McDougall Energy in North Bay, ON is seeking a skilled 310T Truck and Coach Technician to service our internal fleet. Reporting to the Shop Manager, you will perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs across a variety of equipment, ensuring safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate holds a valid 310T license (or is an apprentice) and a G class driver's license, with strong problem-solving and customer service skills. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• A valid 310T license or active apprenticeship
• A valid G Class driver’s license
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel as required
• Experience in customer service is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform MTO safety inspections on tractors and trailers in compliance with provincial regulations
• Diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines, powertrains, electrical systems, and aftertreatment systems (tractors)
• Inspect, service, and repair trailer systems including brakes, suspension, lighting, ABS, and structural components
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using diagnostic tools
• Document inspections and maintenance in logs and service reports
• Assist with parts identification and communicate repair needs to support efficient workflow
• Conduct post-repair inspections and road tests to verify safe operation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and follow safety policies

About The Opportunity

McDougall Energy is looking for a skilled 310T Truck and Coach Technician based out of our North Bay, ON shop. Reporting to the Shop Manager this role is an integral member of the team responsible for servicing our dedicated, internal fleet with a variety of makes, models and types of equipment. Responsibilities Include

• Performing Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) safety inspections on tractors and trailers in compliance with provincial regulations
• Assisting with and performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines, powertrains, electrical systems, and aftertreatment systems (tractors)
• Inspecting, servicing, and repairing trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, lighting, ABS, and structural components
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic software (as applicable to experience level)
• Performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all fleet equipment to ensure safety and reliability
• Accurately documenting inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities, including daily logs and service reports
• Assisting with parts identification and communicating repair needs to support efficient workflow
• Conducting post-repair inspections and supporting road testing to verify safe operation
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper use and care of tools and equipment
• Always following all occupational health and safety policies and procedures

About You

• A valid 310T License or active Apprenticeship
• A valid G Class Driver’s License
• Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to be a team player
• The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Numeric ability and strong problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service
• Willingness to travel
