Job summary

McDougall Energy in Cochrane, ON, is seeking a skilled 310T Truck and Coach Technician to service our internal fleet and keep it safe and reliable. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance on tractors and trailers, documenting all work and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Ideal candidates hold a valid 310T license or are in active apprenticeship, possess a G Class licence, and can travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid 310T license or be actively enrolled in an apprenticeship.
• Valid G Class Driver’s Licence.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Numerical ability and strong problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform MTO safety inspections on tractors and trailers in compliance with regulations.
• Diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines, powertrains, electrical systems, and aftertreatment systems.
• Inspect, service, and repair trailer systems including brakes, suspension, and lighting.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using tools and software.
• Execute preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.
• Document inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities clearly.
• Assist with parts identification and communicate repair needs to support workflow.
• Conduct post-repair inspections and road tests to verify safe operation.
• Maintain a safe, organized workspace and follow safety policies.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

McDougall Energy is looking for a skilled 310T Truck and Coach Technicianbased out of our Cochrane, ON. shop. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this role is an integral member of the team responsible for servicing our dedicated, internal fleet with a variety of makes, models and types of equipment. Responsibilities include:

• Performing Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) safety inspections on tractors and trailers in compliance with provincial regulations


• Assisting with and performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines, powertrains, electrical systems, and aftertreatment systems (tractors)


• Inspecting, servicing, and repairing trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, lighting, ABS, and structural components


• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic software (as applicable to experience level)


• Performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all fleet equipment to ensure safety and reliability


• Accurately documenting inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities, including daily logs and service reports


• Assisting with parts identification and communicating repair needs to support efficient workflow


• Conducting post-repair inspections and supporting road testing to verify safe operation


• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper use and care of tools and equipment


• Always following all occupational health and safety policies and procedures

ABOUT YOU:

The ideal candidate will have:

• A valid 310T License or active Apprenticeship
