Job summary

Emcon Services Inc. is a proud Canadian-based company actively hiring Mechanical Technicians across Ontario. The role focuses on inspection, repairs and preventive maintenance of our truck fleet and equipment. Apprentices welcome to join our developmental programs, with duties directed by the Lead-Hand/Mechanical Superintendent.

Qualified candidates should hold 310T, 310S or 310J licenses, valid Ontario driver’s license, and willingness to work overtime at unionized wages.

Qualifications

• Licensed Truck & Coach Mechanic (310T)
• Motive Power Technician diploma or equivalent trade experience
• 310S Automotive Service Technician license considered an asset
• 310J Truck–Trailer Service Technician license considered an asset
• Apprentices welcome for developmental program
• Registered for DriveON portal
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs
• Experience in engine/EM diagnostics, electrical diagnostics and repair
• Experience in heavy truck hydraulics, pneumatics, brakes, suspension, and steering
• Experience with fabrication and welding considered an asset
• Good knowledge of worksite safety
• Experience with heavy-duty equipment such as gravel trucks and plow trucks

Responsibilities

• Conduct annual safety inspections and repairs
• Follow preventative maintenance program on fleet of trucks, trailers and equipment
• Perform duties as assigned by Lead-Hand/Mechanical Superintendent

About the Job:

We welcome and encourage applications from 310T, 310S, 310J Technicians, as well as apprentices, as we have apprenticeship developmental programs in place. This position is responsible for conducting annual safety inspections, performing repairs and following our preventative maintenance program on our current fleet of trucks, trailers and equipment. Duties assigned by Lead-Hand/Mechanical Superintendent.

• Knowledge and experience on Bosch Rexroth salt management system;
• Knowledge and experience in fabrication and welding considered an asset;
• Good knowledge of trade related worksite safety;
• Experience on industry related heavy-duty equipment such as gravel trucks, snow-plow trucks, winter maintenance attachments, loaders, grader, sweepers, mowers, backhoes, tractors, etc.
• Capable of working overtime as required
• Capable of performing call out to attend vehicle breakdown

This role is a unionized position with wages and benefits as outlined by the collective agreement.Pay Rate: Based on experience up to a maximum of $42.40 hourly
