Job summary

Dawn Recruiting Agency seeks a skilled 310T Licensed Mechanic to join the Brampton, Ontario team. The role focuses on maintaining fleet equipment, diagnosing issues, and ensuring safe, efficient operation. The position includes mentoring apprentices and working in a supportive shop environment.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, inspections, repairs, road tests, and documentation; you will stay current with repair tech and manage parts inventory in a hands-on shop setting.

Qualifications

  • 310T certification with 3–5 years of relevant trade experience.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and electrical systems, including schematics and diagnostics.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring apprentices within a registered apprenticeship program.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have the appropriate tools required for fleet maintenance.
  • G Class driver's licence required.
  • AZ licence preferred.
  • Welding experience is an asset.
  • PC literate with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-specific software.
  • Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) is an asset.

  • Complete inspections in accordance with regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Review inspection reports submitted by drivers and complete necessary repairs.
  • Conduct road tests and diagnostic testing on vehicle systems and components.
  • Stay current with advancements in vehicle repair systems, equipment, and technology.
  • Record work orders in TMW and maintain accurate documentation of completed work.
  • Monitor parts inventory and arrange replenishment according to departmental procedures.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety policies, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Apprentice Mechanics.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and productive shop environment.
  • Perform additional mechanical and maintenance duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
