Job summary

Crane Carrier (Canada) Limited is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for Heavy Duty Trucks and trailers. The role focuses on repairing medium to heavy duty trucks to customer specifications and industry standards.

Compensation is $35.00–$45.00 per hour, with benefits including health, dental, vision, vacation, retirement plan, and other programs. Applicants should have 2–5 years of diesel experience and a valid 310T/310J license in Ontario.

Qualifications

  • Two to five years of diesel mechanic experience in heavy-duty industry.
  • Registered license or apprentice 310T/310J with skilled trades in Ontario.
  • Possess your own tools and/or willingness to purchase tools as you advance.
  • Ability to lift parts up to 50+ lbs.
  • Valid G-class or AZ driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Repair customer vehicles and trailers.
  • Perform basic welding functions.
  • Inform customer/manager of completion times, services and costs.
  • Monitor profit/loss of each job to maximize profitability while maintaining quality.
  • Submit work orders for invoicing.
  • Maintain inventory and supplies.
  • Prepare a list of required replacement parts.
  • Keep the work area clean and adhere to EH&S standards.

Crane Carrier (Canada) Limited - Transaxle (Sign on Bonus) is seeking a Diesel Mechanic - Heavy Duty Trucks 310T who will be responsible for repairing medium to heavy duty trucks and all models of trailers to specific customer and industry-standard specifications.

Pay based on experience: $35.00 - $45.00

Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities Include
  • Perform repairs to customer vehicles and trailers
  • Perform basic welding functions
  • Inform customer/manager of completion times, services expenses, and possible changes
  • Monitor the profit/loss of each job to maximize profitability while maintaining the highest standards of quality; minimize warranty claims and re-work
  • Submit work orders for invoicing
  • Maintain inventory and supplies
  • Prepare list of required replacement parts
  • Clean work area as required and maintain equipment; adhere to all environmental, health and safety standards
Successful Diesel Mechanic Candidates Will Have
  • Two - Five years of diesel mechanic (truck) experience within the heavy-duty industry (apprenticeship 2plus years)
  • Registered license or apprentice 310T / 310J with skilled trades in Ontario
  • Possess your own tools and/or the willingness to purchase tools required for the job as you advance in your skill level and responsibilities
  • Ability to lift part up to 50+ lbs.
  • Valid G- class driver's license and/or AZ with good driving record
Physical Requirements
  • The work is active
  • Typically the associate will lift, pull and move heavy duty truck parts that might be in excess of 50 lb
  • The associate will also have to do the following throughout the day: walking, bending, twisting, stepping, stooping, reaching, lifting, and pushing
Work Environment
  • While performing the primary duties of the job, the associate will be regularly exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, and noise and temperature variances
