Job summary
GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a skilled Technician/Mechanic to keep our heavy vehicle fleet in top condition. You will perform repairs, routine maintenance, and diagnostics on trucks and equipment, while ensuring safety and compliance.
The role emphasizes independent work, teamwork, and adherence to OHSA standards in a modern, full‑time shop environment. Prioritize applicants with 3+ years of relevant experience and 310T licensing.
Qualifications
- Requires 310T Truck & Coach license (or 310T level 2 or higher apprentice)
- Own tools are required
- Welding experience is a plus
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- 3+ years of experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair operations on vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
- Use vehicle computer electronics to interpret failures and guide repairs
- Estimate time and material costs and respond to emergency breakdowns
- Maintain safety compliance and a clean workshop
- Complete documentation in fleet maintenance software
- Follow safety procedures at all times
- Mentor apprentices and assist teammates
- Take on additional duties as assigned
