Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Ontario is seeking a skilled Technician/Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment, performing diagnostics and preventive maintenance while upholding safety standards.

You will work with modern shop equipment and contribute to a compliant, efficient operation. The role offers a permanent full-time position with benefits, overtime opportunities, and flexible earnings.

Qualifications

• Must hold a 310T Truck and Coach license (or be an apprentice at 310T level 2 or higher).
• Valid G driver's license and reliable transportation to work.
• Own tools are required for repairs and maintenance.
• Welding experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• 3+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair operations on vehicles and equipment.
• Perform system diagnostics including electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems.
• Use vehicle computer electronics to interpret failure modes and plan repairs.
• Provide estimates of time and materials and respond to emergency breakdowns.
• Ensure safety checks and maintain a clean work area per OHSA standards.
• Document work using fleet maintenance software and track parts usage and repair times.
• Perform all work in accordance with safety procedures.
• Mentor apprentices and provide guidance.
• Other duties as assigned.
