Job summary

Alleguard in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to keep industrial equipment and the facility in top condition. The role includes reading drawings, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and working with forklifts and conveyors to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with conveyors, motors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and industrial equipment.
  • Hands-on, problem-solving approach with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work safely in industrial environments and follow all Prism and site-specific safety policies.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours – including weekends or nights, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs, including lubrication, cleaning, alignment, and component replacement.
  • Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs.
  • Clean equipment and other areas as required. Maintain an organized and neat work area.
  • Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
  • Troubleshoot forklift problems including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues, and/or malfunctions.
  • Interpret manufacturer's technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed.
  • Communicate any issues or problems to upper management while also working with other staff members to get a particular job complete.
  • Compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area.
  • Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.
  • Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Summary

Performs works involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the facility in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; boiler making; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.

Pay

$30.00/hr CAD

Schedule
  • Monday through Friday: 2:00pm-10:30pm

Physical Demands
  • Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
  • Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
