Job summary

Alleguard is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support our production facility by keeping machines and building systems in top condition. You will assist with preventative maintenance and changeovers during production.

You will use a range of tools, perform repairs, and install wiring and plumbing as needed. The role requires good communication, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

  • Basic technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, heating).
  • Previous experience repairing machinery.
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An eye for detail.
  • High school diploma; vocational degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly and buildings operate efficiently.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools.
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Escalate issues to Leadership as appropriate
  • Perform tool changeovers
  • Comply with legal, environmental, and safety requirements
  • Follow Environmental and Safety policies.
  • Assists with Machine Operation as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Position: Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary

Assists Maintenance to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the facility clearly and in repair. Performs preventative maintenance on various types of production equipment, including but not limited to horizontal/vertical wire cutters, wrappers, grinders, etc. Assists Machine Operators with changeovers, wire setting, Lock Out Tag Out, and other machine maintenance as needed. Assists Operators with trouble shooting during production run.

Responsibilities
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of the buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Escalate issues to Leadership as appropriate
  • Perform tool changeovers
  • Comply with legal, environmental, and safety requirements of the area.
  • Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.
  • Know the environmental impacts associated with your activities.
  • Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.
  • Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
  • Assists with Machine Operation as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands
  • Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
  • Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
