Graduates of Interpreter Training are required, with preference for additional Deaf education study. A minimum of three years’ interpreting experience and ASL/English fluency are essential,

This position is currently designated as a hard-to-fill position and is eligible for a recruitment and retention incentive in accordance with a Letter of Understanding between APSEA and NSGEU.
All incentive payments are subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable Letter of Understanding, including eligibility requirements, continued service in the designated position, and statutory deductions.
The Educational Interpreter (EI) provides interpreting support to learners who are Deaf, deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) in the classroom. They also provide interpreting services for the classroom teacher, Education Support Teachers (EST’s), and school support staff.
