Job description

Position Overview :

Under the direction of the Facility Operations Manager, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the agency’s facilities located in Thunder Bay, Fort William First Nation, and district offices (Armstrong, Longlac, Nipigon, and Mobert). The Maintenance Worker will ensure facilities meet agency standards and relevant legislation, report conditions to the Facility Operations Manager, and utilize resources efficiently.

Salary Range :

$26.48-$33.54 per hour

Qualifications and Requirements :
  • Minimum grade 12 diploma required; Building Maintenance and Operations Certificate preferred.
  • Two or more years’ experience in carpentry, painting, and plumbing; experience in maintaining multiple facilities is essential. Candidates with relevant experience and qualifications will also be considered.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Facility Operations Manager.
  • Must be able to travel quarterly to district offices for maintenance.
  • Possession of a Class “G” Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Criminal records check with vulnerable sector search required.
  • Willingness to obtain Standard First Aid/CPR certification and Fall and Arrest training.
Hours of Work :

32.5 hours per week
