Job summary

Dilico Anishinabek Family Care is seeking a Casual District Administrative Assistant to support the District Child Welfare Service Manager with secretarial and clerical tasks, reception duties, and courteous client contact.

The role requires a secondary school diploma (or equivalent), a 2-year Office Administration Management diploma preferred, and 3+ years of secretarial experience. A valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two-year Office Administration Management diploma preferred.
  • Three+ years of secretarial and reception experience.
  • Experience in Anishinabek child and family services setting preferred.
  • Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Search required.
  • Class G driver’s license with access to a vehicle and $1,000,000 liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general secretarial and clerical duties and ensure smooth unit operation.
  • Provide reception duties and greet visitors politely and professionally.
  • Coordinate with the District Manager to meet service requirements and deadlines.

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the District Child Welfare Service Manager, the Casual District Administrative Assistant will perform general secretarial and clerical duties by ensuring efficient, smooth operation of the unit; provide reception duties and ensure that all individuals contacting the agency are greeted in a polite, helpful, and courteous manner.

Salary: $23.71 hourly

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • A Secondary School Diploma is required and/or a one-year certificate is a minimum
  • A two-year Office Administration Management diploma is preferred
  • Three or more years experience in secretarial and reception duties, preferably in an
  • Anishinabek child and family services setting
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Search and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Required to report to work on short notice as determined by the respective Service
  • Manager in relation to service requirements
  • Must poses a Class “G” Driver’s License and have access to a reliable, personal vehicle and have $1,000,000 liability vehicle insurance
