Renfrew County District School Board is seeking an Educational Support Personnel for Highview Public School in Pembroke. The role is full-time (35 hours per week) and involves providing essential student support, mobility assistance, feeding, toileting and positioning as needed.

Applicants should have a minimum two-year college diploma in social services or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Training in Autism, CPS, WHMIS and lifting are assets.

EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PERSONNEL

SCHOOL: Highview Public School, Pembroke

FTE: 100% (35 hours per week)

QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum two year community college diploma in the social services field (e.g. DSW, CYW, SSW), or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the Board. (Transcripts may be requested to support relevant course detail.)

Applicants must have a proven ability and willingness to perform the essential duties of an Educational Support Personnel, including toileting, diapering, feeding, lifting, transferring, positioning and providing assistance with mobility.

Other Relevant Training That Would Be An Asset

• Autism Spectrum Disorder Training


• Behaviour Management Systems (BMS)


• Lifting training


• WHMIS certification


• Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS)


• Prior experience using computer supports and adaptive/assistive technology is an asset

Hiring will follow the requirements outlined in the Collective Agreement for the Educational Support Personnel and the RCDSB Administrative Procedures. Positions will be filled by members of the Board's Educational Support Personnel bargaining unit BEFORE external applications are considered. The Board reserves the right not to fill a position.
