Job summary

The Indigenous Advocate is responsible to work as part of a team, to provide both generalized and specialized support to teachers and other professionals across the school division. This role works to improve opportunities and achievement for students, helps to set strategic direction and implement actions.

Reporting to a Learning Superintendent, this leadership position is a member of the Learning team. This role is specifically responsible for ensuring that the Calls to Action from the Truth

Qualifications

• The Indigenous Advocate provides generalized and specialized support to teachers and professionals across the school division.
• Experience with policy implementation and educational equity preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Indigenous Advocate works to improve opportunities and achievement for students and helps set strategic direction.
• Leads the implementation of Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation report and Inspiring Success policy goals in the division.
