The successful candidate will analyze learner data, manage budgets, and collaborate with community partners to sustain high-quality learner services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Human Services, Psychology, Community Development, Adult Education, Leadership, or a related field.
  • A combination of education, training, and significant related experience may be considered equivalent.
  • Minimum five years of progressive responsible experience supporting learners, preferably within an Indigenous post-secondary environment.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and learner-centred practices.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience developing and implementing operational procedures, service standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing complex learner situations and coordinating multi-disciplinary supports.
  • Strong conflict resolution, coaching, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare operational reports.
  • Experience exercising sound judgment in complex learner situations.
  • Proficiency with learner information systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual learning platforms.
  • Considerable lived, practical, and relevant working experience of Indigenous issues.
  • Willigness to travel occasionally and work overtime as required.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Ontario, Canada

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership, supervision, and operational oversight of the Student Success Facilitator team.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, orient, train, and support new Student Success Facilitators.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding processes.
  • Conduct meetings and performance discussions.
  • Develop staff schedules and workload assignments.
  • Support professional development planning and identify training opportunities.
  • Foster a positive, culturally safe, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
  • Monitor team performance and service standards and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee learner support services and ensure consistency.
  • Develop, implement, review, and improve operational procedures, workflows, and service delivery models.
  • Coordinate coverage during staff absences.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to Student Success Facilitators with support from the Director, Learner Success and Service Delivery.
  • Support resolution of sensitive learner concerns using trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and learner-centred practices.
  • Monitor learner engagement, retention, and wellness indicators.
  • Collaborate with FNTI staff and community partners to coordinate learner support.
  • Oversee planning and implementation of learner engagement initiatives and events.
  • Participate in departmental planning.
  • Analyze learner success data, identify trends, and implement initiatives to improve learner satisfaction.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership.
  • Contribute to budget planning and departmental operations
