School District #58 (Nicola-Similkameen) in Merritt/Princeton is seeking a District Itinerant Teacher to support numeracy across K–7. This 0.40 FTE temporary position begins immediately and runs to June 30, 2027, with schedule built collaboratively.

The role involves co-teaching, modeling direct instruction, planning with classroom teachers, and supporting students with IEP goals. Applicants must hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and teaching category five or higher.

DISTRICT ITINERANT TEACHER

0.40 FTE Temporary part-time Grade K to 7 Learning Enhancement Teaching position (Numeracy), beginning immediately to June 30, 2027.

Learning Enhancement Teachers (Coaches) work in collaboration with both enrolling and non-enrolling teachers, administrators, and educational assistants to support student learning.This position will largely focus on students at the elementary level in both Merritt and Princeton.

This position offers flexibility in terms of scheduling of days. The schedule will be built collaboratively with the Assistant Superintendent and the successful candidate.

Other duties as assigned within this role include, but are not limited to, instructional planning (with classroom teachers), modeling direct instruction to students, co‑teaching with classroom teachers, assessment of student learning, modeling classroom management and routines, providing program implementation strategies for IEP goals, contributing to student assessment documents, reporting processes - including Learning Updates (modelling best practice).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Training and experience working with grade-level students in mathematics
• Experience with adapting materials, resources, assessments, and learning outcomes for student needs.
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate and familiarity with the BC Curriculum.
• Teaching category five or higher.
