Job summary

Quesnel School District #28 is seeking an Elementary Intermediate Teacher for a temporary assignment at Dragon Lake Elementary School. The position is 1.0 FTE with an effective date from September 14, 2026 to January 31, 2027, possibly extended or reduced in FTE.

Salary ranges from $64,901 to $116,190 per year with a competitive benefits package. The successful candidate will hold a BC Teaching Certificate, be in good standing with the Teacher Regulation Branch, and have elementary education

Qualifications

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate and good standing with the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch.
• Elementary Education with specialization at the Intermediate level.
• Recent successful experience teaching at the Intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff to develop and implement the School Growth Plan.
• Support school-wide environmental initiatives and positive behaviour programs.
• Work as part of the school-based team to deliver quality instruction.

Job description

POSITION: Elementary Intermediate Teacher - temporary

ASSIGNMENT: Grade 5

FTE: 1.0

LOCATION: Dragon Lake Elementary School

EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 14, 2026 until January 31, 2027, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent, with the possibility of extension and/or reduction in FTE.

Basic Qualifications:

A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:

Training Specialization:

Elementary Education with specialization at the Intermediate level

Related Teaching Experience:

Recent successful experience teaching at the Intermediate level

A Reasonable Expectation:

based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.

The annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $64.901 to $116.190 with placement on the range based on length of service with qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
