Carrier Global Corporation’s CST – Brazil is seeking a Brazil Controller to ensure GAAP, SOX compliance, and accurate financial operations for the Brazil entity. You will oversee accounting processes and provide analytical insight.

The role leads a team and collaborates across functions to close periods, prepare statements, and safeguard assets through strong controls. Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years experience; fluent English/Portuguese; on-site in Esteio, Brazil.

Qualificações

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a corporate environment.
• 3+ years of experience leading people or cross-functional projects.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis.
• Bilingual with ability to understand and communicate in English and Portuguese.

• Oversee general ledger, project and government accounting activities to support accurate reporting.
• Support consolidations, period-end close, financial statements, and compliance requirements.
• Analyze operations, costs, revenues, and obligations to reflect financial position.
• Ensure policies and controls are effective to safeguard assets and support SOX.
• Coach and guide team members; one direct report.
• Apply accounting knowledge to improve processes and support sound decisions.

About this position

This position plays a key role within Carrier’s Climate Solutions Transportation (CST) accounting organization, ensuring integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial operations across the Brazil entity. The role is responsible for managing the execution of accounting activities in alignment with U.S. GAAP, SOX requirements, internal control frameworks, operational alignment and statutory requirements.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the CST –Brazil team promoting accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence. This role executes and provides analysis for general accounting processes such as inter-company, cash management, government accounting, financial reporting, project accounting, and / or balance sheet management.

Role Responsibilities:

• Manages accounting activities, processes, and projects for CST – Brazil team, ensuring priorities are executed effectively and deadlines are met.
• Oversee timely and accurate completion of general ledger, project, and/or government accounting activities to support the proper functioning of the accounting organization.
• Reviews and supports consolidations, period-end close activities, financial statement preparation, and compliance requirements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations in order to accurately represent financial standing.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and controls are operating effectively to safeguard company assets and support SOX compliance.
• Coaches and guides team members on accounting and business issues, helping resolve questions and elevate matters appropriately. This position has one direct report.
• Applies accounting knowledge, business judgment, analytical skills, and process expertise to recommend improvements and support sound decision-making.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a corporate environment.
• 3+ years of experience leading people, supervising work, and/or managing cross-functional projects.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis.
• Bilingual with ability to understand and communicate in English and Portuguese

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

• Master’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 3+ years applying U.S. GAAP in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• 3+ years of experience designing, executing, and testing SOX controls and internal control frameworks.
• Experience with HFM, SAP S/4HANA and/or Oracle JDE.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with senior leaders, collaborate across functions, and present financial information clearly.
• Experience developing team members, improving processes, and driving accountability in a close or reporting environment.
