Descrição da oferta de emprego

Job Description Summary

The Technical Buyer Analyst will be responsible for sourcing and managing direct and indirect materials, MRO, chemicals, hazardous materials, and other regulated items, requiring strong technical judgment to assess product specifications, transportation restrictions, EHS impacts, and compliance requirements. This role demands the ability to interpret technical documentation, challenge incomplete requisitions, coordinate with cross-functional technical teams, and make sourcing recommendations that balance operational need, safety, compliance, and supply continuity.

Job Description Sourcing Competencies

Receive, review, and analyze purchase requisitions for indirect materials, MRO items, industrial consumables, chemicals, hazardous materials, and other production support needs, whether domestic or imported. Support sourcing decisions by assessing supplier proposals against technical, commercial, logistical, safety, and compliance requirements. Ensure all sourcing activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, compliance requirements, safety standards, environmental regulations, and applicable transportation/import-export rules. Maintain effective supplier communication regarding specifications, documentation, lead times, delivery conditions, and compliance expectations. Contribute to supply continuity and risk mitigation by anticipating issues related to regulated materials, import processes, transportation constraints, storage, and handling. Identify, challenge, and elevate technical gaps, documentation inconsistencies, or compliance risks in requisitions and supplier documentation.

Foreign Trade Competencies

Review and validate technical documentation related to purchased materials, including technical datasheets, SDS/MSDS, certificates, compliance declarations, and transportation documentation, before supplier selection and purchase release. Analyze and interpret the Safety Data Sheet (SDS/MSDS), especially transport information, to confirm UN classification, dangerous goods status, special handling requirements, and transportation limitations, including restrictions for air transport where applicable. Analyze and interpret the Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods (DGD) to support safe and compliant logistics and procurement decisions. Ensure correct understanding of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), including hazard classes and divisions (Classes 1 through 9), UN numbers, packing groups, compatibility, segregation requirements, and transport restrictions. Work closely with Foreign Trade and Import teams on international purchases, including documentation alignment, shipment authorization, import requirements, and transportation-related restrictions.

Quality Competencies

Evaluate technical and commercial requirements with internal stakeholders to ensure complete understanding of specifications, intended application, risk, and operational impact prior to sourcing. Actively support the qualification, onboarding, and registration of suppliers in the Supplier Registration system (CASL) and related approval workflows. Serve as a key liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders such as Engineering, Production, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, Chemical Lab, and Foreign Trade, ensuring alignment on technical requirements, compliance obligations, and sourcing strategy. Assess material suitability for intended application by partnering with technical stakeholders to confirm performance requirements, compatibility, storage conditions, handling precautions, shelf life, and operational risks. Support evaluation of alternative materials, equivalent products, and supplier changes, considering technical feasibility, compliance implications, transportation requirements, and operational risk.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Strong technical understanding of chemical products, industrial consumables, hazardous materials, and MRO materials.
  • Ability to evaluate material application, compatibility, storage conditions, shelf life, handling risks, and operational constraints.
  • Intermediate English.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, product datasheets, SDS/MSDS, certificates of analysis, compliance declarations, and transport documentation.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, aerospace, chemical, logistics, or regulated industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of EHS, product stewardship, import/export, and dangerous goods transportation requirements.
  • Previous experience supporting sourcing decisions involving regulated, hazardous, or technically complex materials.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills to work with Engineering, Lab, EHS, Quality, Maintenance, and Foreign Trade teams.
