This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tech Manager I – Franchise Backoffice based in Brazil.

We are looking for a Tech Manager to lead and develop engineering teams responsible for building digital products that enhance franchise operations and business performance. In this role, you will oversee the development of innovative people management solutions, covering everything from employee registration to intelligent workforce scheduling. Your work will directly contribute to improving operational efficiency, empowering franchise teams, and reducing employee turnover across the network. You will combine people leadership, technical strategy, and agile delivery practices to drive the evolution of scalable digital products. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will promote engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and a culture of collaboration and accountability. This is an opportunity to influence strategic technology decisions while delivering solutions with meaningful business and operational impact.

Accountabilities

• Lead, develop, and manage the engineering team, overseeing the entire employee development journey, from recruitment and onboarding to career progression, individual development plans (IDPs), and continuous feedback.
• Drive strategic planning initiatives, taking ownership and sharing responsibility for planning processes, contributing to product strategy discussions, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and technological enablement.
• Foster a strong Software Engineering culture by promoting best practices, effective use of technology stacks, code quality, engineering efficiency, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
• Support and contribute to technical decisions across multiple disciplines, including software architecture, technical documentation, technical debt management, quality assurance, information security, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, and Data Engineering.
• Lead the evolution of software development processes, taking responsibility for workflow management, Kanban practices, dependency coordination, risk management, and the handling of crises and incidents.
• Support the team in managing product backlogs and workflow roadmaps, facilitating agile ceremonies and encouraging autonomy, accountability, and team empowerment.
• Establish and monitor performance indicators and workflow metrics to identify bottlenecks, improve delivery predictability, and drive continuous process optimization.
• Promote transparency, constructive feedback, and effective collaboration between team members, technical leaders, and stakeholders.
• Ensure that engineering priorities and delivery strategies remain aligned with product objectives and the broader operational needs of the franchise network.

Requirements

• Proven experience directly managing software development teams, including people leadership, performance management, professional development, and team growth.
• Professional experience developing and maintaining platforms and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with JavaScript, Node.js, React, RESTful APIs, Micro Frontends, Design Systems, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing and working with microservices-based and event-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of cloud environments, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience across the software development lifecycle, including the development, delivery, maintenance, and continuous evolution of digital products.
• Previous experience working in Agile environments, with practical knowledge of Kanban methodologies and Lean practices.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to use metrics and insights to guide technical and operational improvements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop engineering teams.
• Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills, combined with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities.
