Impinj seeks a CAD Silicon Support Engineer to join its Porto Alegre team. You will help maintain and optimize CAD workflows, support EDA tools, and assist design teams from setup through tape-out.

This role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and timely multi-project delivery within a fast-paced environment. Opportunities to improve tool uptime and licensing management exist across CMOS processes.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 years of experience, or 6 years with Master’s degree.
• Experience with EDA IC Design Tools (Schematic Capture, Layout Editing, and Simulation).
• Experience with Physical Verification Tools (DRC/LVS/Extraction tools).
• Experience in PDK elements, including DRC, LVS, Extraction rule decks, model files, and custom cells development.
• Proficiency in Cadence Skill, Perl, Python, Unix shell, C, C++, Web development.
• Experience supporting Linux operating systems.
• Experience working with CMOS silicon processes.
• Ability to document technical processes clearly and communicate findings across teams.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

• Support load sharing server farm system and job submission environment
• Set up and configure EDA tools and license management for design teams
• Support circuit and layout designers using DRC, LVS and Extraction tools
• Support analog design flows and tools from project setup through tape out
• Work alongside designers to help debug and sometimes automate design tasks
• Support team members on the Linux Operating System and IT networking issues

Team Overview

The CAD Silicon Support Engineering team is the backbone of our silicon development engine. We are a high-impact, multi-disciplinary group of engineers dedicated to building, maintaining, and optimizing the critical Electronic Design Automation (EDA) environments, tool chains, and methodologies that enable our design teams to tape out world-class silicon. Our mission, to accelerate time-to-market and maximize engineering productivity by delivering robust, highly automated, and deterministic CAD workflows. We bridge the gap between EDA vendor tools and the unique, complex demands of our custom silicon architectures, ensuring maximum tool uptime, optimal license utilization, and flawless data management.

What you will do

• Support team members on virtual desktop environment setup and configuration
• Support load sharing server farm system and job submission environment
• Set up and configure EDA tools and license management for design teams
• Support circuit and layout designers using DRC, LVS and Extraction tools
• Support analog design flows and tools from project setup through tape out
• Work alongside designers to help debug and sometimes automate design tasks, and be a liaison between designers and tool vendors
• Support team members on the Linux Operating System and IT networking issues

What you will bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 years of experienceor 6years withMaster'sdegree in Electrical Engineering,or3 years withPhDand minimum of3 years of experience in a CAD support role
• Experience with EDA IC Design Tools (Schematic Capture, Layout Editing, and Simulation)
• Experience with Physical Verification Tools (DRC/LVS/Extraction tools)
• Experience in process development kit elements (PDK), including DRC, LVS and Extraction rule decks, model files, and custom parameterized cells development
• Proficiency in one or more programming and Scripting Languages (Cadence Skill, Perl, Python, Unix shell, C, C++, Web development)
• Experience supporting Linux operating systems
• Experience working with CMOS silicon processes
• Demonstrated ability to document technical processes clearly and communicate findings across engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines

Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties, requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Both market wage data and the mid-point of the pay range is reviewed and used as the starting point for all new hire offers. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
