Qualifications

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Architect Fullstack | Node.js/React based in Brazil.

We are looking for an experienced Fullstack Software Architect to design and guide the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performing digital products. In this role, you will oversee the complete solution architecture, from front end applications to backend services and data persistence. You will translate business needs into clear technical specifications, enabling engineering teams to deliver solutions with autonomy and confidence. Working with modern technologies such as React, Node.js, and TypeScript, you will establish architectural standards and promote engineering best practices. You will also drive technical decision-making, manage technical debt, and ensure long-term maintainability and operational stability. Accountabilities

• Fullstack Architecture and Solution Design: Define comprehensive fullstack solutions for assigned initiatives, covering frontend development, backend services, integrations, and data persistence.
• Technical Requirements and Specifications: Translate business requirements into clear technical objectives, addressing both functional and non-functional needs, including scalability, performance, availability, and security.
• Work Breakdown and Delivery Enablement: Break down initiatives into detailed user stories and tasks, defining technical acceptance criteria and development requirements that enable engineering teams to work independently and efficiently.
• Technical Debt Management: Assess existing applications, identify architectural limitations and technical debt, and document improvement opportunities in a traceable and prioritized manner in collaboration with product teams.
• Architectural Decision‑Making: Evaluate alternative technical approaches, establish architectural standards, and formally document decisions, including the rationale and trade‑offs behind each choice.
• Engineering Standards and Best Practices: Promote design patterns, coding standards, testing strategies, and collaborative development practices across engineering teams.
• Scalability and Operational Reliability: Design solutions that support high availability and operational continuity, incorporating appropriate cloud infrastructure, messaging systems, and deployment pipelines.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with product management and engineering stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives and support continuous product evolution.

Requirements

• Fullstack Development Experience: Extensive professional experience developing fullstack applications using React.js and Node.js.
• JavaScript and TypeScript: Advanced proficiency in the JavaScript and TypeScript ecosystems, including modern development practices and application architecture.
• Software Architecture: Proven experience defining technical standards, applying design patterns, and promoting engineering best practices across development teams.
• High-Availability Systems: Practical experience building and maintaining digital products that require high availability, reliability, and ongoing operational support.
• Event‑Driven Architecture and Messaging: Experience designing and implementing event‑driven systems and messaging solutions using technologies such as Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ.
• Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Database Design and Optimization: Strong knowledge of MySQL data modeling, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
• Automated Testing: Experience implementing and maintaining unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing strategies.
• DevOps and CI/CD: Familiarity with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipeline configuration using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Version Control and Collaboration: Fluent use of Git in collaborative workflows, including Gitflow, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Domain‑Driven Design (Preferred): Experience applying DDD principles within digital product environments.
• Observability (Preferred): Knowledge of application monitoring, distributed tracing, observability practices, and application health metrics.
• NoSQL Databases (Preferred): Familiarity with MongoDB, Firebase, or other NoSQL technologies.
• Relevant Domain Experience (Preferred): Experience with payment systems, subscription‑based products, or third‑party integrations.
• Security and Compliance (Preferred): Knowledge of sensitive data protection and compliance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
• Agile Methodologies (Preferred): Experience working with Scrum, Kanban, or similar agile frameworks.
• Legacy Modernization (Preferred): Experience modernizing legacy applications and implementing incremental migration strategies.
• Additional Technical Skills (Preferred): Knowledge of PHP and Laravel, along with technical English proficiency.
• Communication and Leadership: Ability to explain architectural decisions, communicate trade‑offs clearly, collaborate across teams, and guide technical discussions toward sustainable solutions.
