Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer – Java/React for a fully remote, Brazil-based contractor engagement. You will deliver end-to-end features across Java backend services and React frontend applications, contributing to strategic projects with meaningful business impact.

You will work in a microservices environment, collaborating with a small cross-functional team, and apply AI-assisted development tools with careful judgment to ensure correctness, security, and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Advanced hands-on proficiency in Java for backend development and React for frontend development.
• Experience with Docker and containerization, plus familiarity with deploying applications to Microsoft Azure.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
• Practical experience with asynchronous processing and messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, or Apache Kafka.
• Experience with non-relational databases and choosing appropriate use cases.
• Daily experience with AI-assisted software development tools and good judgment in using them.
• Experience consuming and integrating third-party APIs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Accountabilities

• Participate in platform architecture decisions, document technical rationale, and contribute informed recommendations to engineering discussions.

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in production environments, improving system stability and performance.

• Use AI-assisted development tools effectively, critically review generated code, and apply sound engineering judgment to ensure correctness, security, and maintainability.

• Integrate third-party APIs and ensure reliable data exchange across connected systems.

• Collaborate closely with a small, cross-functional team, sharing technical context and supporting the development of less experienced colleagues.

• Balance technical quality with delivery priorities, contributing to continuous improvement and practical engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in software development, including responsibility for applications and features deployed to production.

• Advanced hands-on proficiency in Java for backend development and React for frontend development, with the autonomy to deliver across both areas.

• Experience with Docker and containerization, plus familiarity with deploying applications to Microsoft Azure.

• Strong knowledge of relational databases, including data modeling, querying, and performance optimization.

• Practical experience with asynchronous processing and messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, or Apache Kafka.

• Experience with non-relational databases and the ability to assess when they are appropriate for specific use cases.

• Daily experience with AI-assisted software development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent solutions, including the judgment to recognize when AI accelerates development and when its output requires correction or should not be used.

• Experience consuming and integrating third-party APIs.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, overcome technical blockers, and seek support when appropriate.

• A quality-focused mindset that balances technical rigor with practical delivery timelines.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, particularly in a small-team environment where shared context and close coordination are essential.

• Genuine curiosity about applying AI to product development and improving engineering workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering healthcare-related projects involving sensitive data and compliance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD).

• Experience developing products at the minimum viable product (MVP) stage.

• Familiarity with legacy systems and monolithic architectures.
