EY BR in Brazil seeks a senior Snowflake Expert to lead enterprise data migrations from Netezza to Snowflake. This role combines architecture, security, optimization, and governance across AWS/Azure/GCP environments.

Qualificações

• Fluent English (mandatory) and able to communicate with international clients.
• Proven experience in Data Engineering or Enterprise Data Platforms.
• Strong Snowflake experience: Architecture, Security, Performance tuning, Query optimization, Cost optimization.
• Strong experience with IBM Netezza: Administration, Data modeling, SQL development.
• Proven experience planning and executing Netezza → Snowflake migrations.
• Advanced SQL.
• Strong ETL/ELT development experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with cloud monitoring and optimization.
• Knowledge of data security and governance.
• Experience working with international and distributed teams.
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).

Responsabilidades

• Plan and execute enterprise data migrations from Netezza to Snowflake.
• Design migration strategies, migration waves, and cutover plans.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes and optimize modern data pipelines.
• Convert and optimize database objects, including DDL, stored procedures, scripts, and SQL queries.
• Validate migrated data through reconciliation, quality assurance, consistency checks, and performance testing.
• Optimize Snowflake architecture, performance, resource consumption, and operational costs.
• Collaborate with BI, Data Engineering, Infrastructure, and Development teams.
• Implement cloud data platform best practices for scalability, governance, and security.
• Monitor platform performance and continuously improve operational efficiency.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation throughout the migration process.

Work Model: Hybrid for candidates living in state capitals and Remote for candidates living in countryside/cities outside the state capitals

Key Responsibilities

You Will Be Responsible For

• Plan and execute enterprise data migrations from Netezza to Snowflake.

This position is intended for a Snowflake Expert with extensive experience in enterprise data migration, particularly Netezza to Snowflake, as well as strong expertise in cloud data platforms, SQL optimization, ETL/ELT, performance tuning, and data governance.

Candidates whose experience is limited to general SQL development, reporting, BI, or Snowflake usage without demonstrated ownership of large-scale migration projects and Snowflake platform optimization are unlikely to meet the expectations for this role.
