Job summary

Insight Global's client, a global travel & hospitality company, seeks a Senior Java Engineer to join a nearshore pod in the Customer Journey team. You will build backend services and APIs powering guest-facing apps, with strong Java, Spring Boot, and heavy Kubernetes experience. Daily use of AI coding agents is expected.

You will own design and implementation of microservices, collaborate with the pod, and drive scalable backend solutions in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of backend Java experience
• Strong Java and Spring Boot, microservices
• Kubernetes experience with Kustomize and Docker
• GitOps workflows with Argo CD
• Kafka and event-driven architecture

This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role building the backend services and APIs that power the client's guest-facing web and mobile apps. Strong Java and Spring Boot skills and heavy Kubernetes experience are required. You'll use AI coding agents as a core part of your daily workflow.

• Java and Spring Boot (Maven-based), microservice architecture and design patterns
