Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced backend engineer to build and modernize .NET? No, Java/Spring backend services and APIs powering member and claims experiences across web and mobile platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience with Java, Spring boot, and enterprise applications.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot, microservices, and REST API development.
• Strong data migration experience, ideal experience migrating IBM ACE/IIB integrations OR Google BigQuery (or similar), and SQL data services to Spring Boot architectures.
• SQL, data modeling, database performance tuning, and large-scale data migration. Experience building secure, scalable, observable, and maintainable applications.
• Strong Agile delivery experience collaborating with Product, QA, Architecture, Operations, and business teams.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Core tech stack: Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, SQL
• IBM ACE/IIB, ESQL, IBM MQ, messaging, and middleware modernization.
• Kafka, JMS, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms.
• AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud platforms.
• CI/CD, Git, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and DevOps practices.
• Automated testing, logging, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Healthcare, payer, claims, eligibility, or benefits administration experience.
• Experience with EDI transactions and healthcare integration standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations that power web and mobile applications.
• Support a multi-year digital transformation initiative focused on modernizing member-facing web and mobile experiences, including member portals, claims applications, and other customer-facing platforms.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, UX, and engineering teams to deliver secure, high-performing solutions.
• Modernize legacy .NET applications and contribute to cloud-enabled, event-driven architectures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack, including application code, APIs, databases, infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
