We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote position involves managing various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners. As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and build products that maintain positive cash flow. You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet supporting seamless transactions and employer linking.

Responsibilities:

• Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions and lead engineering efforts.
• Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed micro-services architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
• Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
• Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation including architecture, APIs, and workflows.
• Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
• Collaborate effectively across teams to ensure smooth development processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Go/Golang, Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building reliable, scalable applications and microservices.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Ability to own projects from start to finish and work in agile environments.
