This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Backend Developer - Node/Python based in Brazil.

This role is focused on building and evolving scalable backend systems that power critical digital products within a fast-paced, transformation-driven environment. You will work on designing, developing, and maintaining robust APIs and services using Node.js and Python, contributing directly to the evolution of modern, high-performance platforms. The environment is highly collaborative, agile, and innovation-oriented, with strong emphasis on engineering best practices, clean architecture, and continuous improvement. You will participate in the full development lifecycle, from design to deployment, while ensuring reliability, security, and scalability of backend services. The role also encourages the use of AI-powered tools to accelerate development and improve software quality. This is a hands-on position where your contributions will have a direct impact on system performance and user experience. You will be part of a team that values technical excellence, learning, and adaptability.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and Python.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs with internal and external systems to support scalable digital platforms.
• Ensure high code quality through testing, code reviews, and adherence to engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, develop, and deliver backend features.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process and delivery improvements.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Support system performance, debugging, and optimization across distributed environments.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and delivery quality.

Requirements:

• Strong experience as a Backend Developer using Node.js and/or Python in production environments.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration patterns.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, including testing and clean code principles.
• Experience working in agile and collaborative development environments.
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts (OAuth2, JWT) is a plus.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or cloud-native tools is a plus.
• Exposure to containerization or Kubernetes is considered an advantage.
• Experience with frontend frameworks (React or Next.js) or other languages is a plus.
• Interest in or experience using generative AI tools for software development is highly valued.
