Quality Assurance Engineer (Manual) - Project
What You'll Do:
Overall Scope
- Analyze end-to-end Salesforce workflows across Sales, Service, and integrated systems.
- Think through how users actually behave— including mistakes, shortcuts, and workarounds.
- Identify edge cases, failure points, and unintended consequences.
- Test not just happy paths, but stress paths, abuse paths, and “what if” scenarios.
Manual Testing
- Design and execute scenario-driven manual test cases.
- Validate UI/UX behavior, data integrity, permissions, and automation outcomes.
- Perform regression testing to ensure new changes don’t break existing functionality.
- Log clear, actionable defects with strong reproduction steps and business impact.
Automation Testing
- Build and maintain automated test scripts for Salesforce applications.
- Identify what should be automated versus what’s better left manual.
- Maintain test reliability as Salesforce releases and customizations evolve.
- Partner with developers to improve testability and coverage.
Test Management & Documentation
- Create, manage, and execute test plans and test cycles in Zephyr.
- Maintain high-quality test cases that reflect real user journeys, not just requirements.
- Track defects, test results, and release readiness clearly and consistently.
- Work closely with Developers, Admins, Product Owners, and Change teams.
- Ask clarifying questions early to prevent downstream defects.
- Translate technical issues into plain language business impact.
- Advocate for quality without slowing teams down unnecessarily.
What We're Looking For:
Required Experience
- 4+ years of Salesforce QA experience.
- Strong manual testing experience in Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud).
- Hands‑on automation testing experience (tool‑agnostic, Salesforce‑relevant).
- Extensive regression testing experience in complex environments.
- Strong experience using Zephyr for test management.
- Experience testing integrations, automations, and data‑driven workflows.
Systems Thinking & User Empathy
- You think beyond individual stories and understand end‑to‑end flows.
- You test like a real user—and like a confused one.
- You instinctively ask: “How could someone break this?”
- You understand that quality is about trust, not just test coverage.
Communication Skills (Non‑Optional)
- Confident verbal communication with technical and non‑technical partners.
- Comfortable pushing back when something isn't ready to ship—with data.
- Ability to explain why an issue matters, not just that it exists.
Nice to Have
- Salesforce certification(s) (Admin, Advanced Admin, or Platform App Builder).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
- Experience testing role‑based security and permission models.
- Exposure to large‑scale or multi‑org Salesforce environments.
How Success Is Measured
- Defects are caught early— before users find them.
- Releases feel stable, predictable, and boring (the good kind).
- Test cases reflect real‑world usage, not just acceptance criteria.
- Teams trust QA as a partner, not a gatekeeper.
Who This Role Is Not For
- Testers who only follow scripts without thinking.
- People who avoid ambiguity or edge cases.
- Anyone uncomfortable challenging requirements or timelines in service of quality.
