We are expanding our global footprint and have a new opportunity for an Operations Manager - Brazil.

The Operations Manager - Brazil will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience while supervising field operations staff involved in the service of installing, servicing and maintaining communications equipment at new and existing customer locations. This position will participate in supporting the Vice President & General Manager – Latin America and the executive leadership team as appropriate and be required to represent the Company with the professionalism and expertise our customers have come to expect.

Essential Functions
  • Provide daily oversight of assigned jobs and tasks to field technicians in achieving job completion in accordance with daily schedules.
  • Ensure the proper staffing, training and development of a stable and skilled field workforce to meet mission objectives.
  • Compile and evaluate data to identify problems and trends in operations leading to the resolution of systemic onsite performance problems, network, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Support the development and implementation of additional regional service centers as determined by regional leadership and sales forecasts.
  • Interact professionally with clients and contractors, as needed. Lead the effort to identify and engage with 3rd party installation and support organizations. Establish SOP’s and performance metrics for tracking effectiveness of subcontractors.
  • Professionally meet with customer management, HSE personnel and iNet vendors and subcontractors, communicating effectively in person or by phone to convey mission, findings and root cause.
  • Represent the Company locally with customers to review work completed, handle customer complaints or feedback and develop corrective action plans for failures of process and quality or maintenance at remote sites.

Since this position is responsible for the management of Brazil Operations and eventually other regions in Latin America, routine periodic travel will be required to manage and oversee personnel, assets, facilities as well as supporting sales and projects activities, meeting with clients, subcontractors and the like. Anticipate normal travel requirements to be 20-30% annually. Based on specific sales and operations activities, some periods could be higher.

Requirements

Required:

  • Fluent in Portuguese, native preferred, and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Organizational Management, Engineering or similar related disciplines.
  • Project Management training and experience, PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of previous experience in direct telecommunications, wireless, basic internet industry, and/or electrical, telephone utilities.
  • 10+ years of prior management experience in recruiting, training and development of teams.
  • Proficiency in the operations and maintenance of RF systems such as Starlink, LTE, point to point or multipoint radios, VSAT or microwave systems and the demonstrated ability to train and lead others in the development of the same skillset.
  • Expert installation crafts practices i.e., cable making, installing, dressing, labeling, accuracy, neatness and reliability is a requirement.
  • International and local HSE certifications and requirements to access job sites, offshore and onshore.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and Drug & Alcohol testing.
  • Possess and maintain an acceptable driving record and a valid driver’s license.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a variety of communications or electronic systems.
  • Previous experience in operations leadership role - Service Delivery, Service Management or Project Management in a related industry.
  • Prior experience working in an Oil & Gas Service Company.
  • Prior experience in field operations in the Oil & Gas areas offshore / onshore Brazil, i.e. Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Macaé, north Brazil.
  • Prior experience working in projects in other countries in the Latin America region.
