Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. in Brazil seeks a Lead Financial Analyst to act as the bridge between cloud finance, accounting, and AI-driven cost oversight. You will partner with the Financial Operations and FinOps leadership to drive month-end closes, validate automated journals, and oversee cloud billing accuracy.

The role requires strong SOX familiarity, multi-cloud cost management, and leadership of a small team; hands-on with SQL/BigQuery, Excel, and BI tools, with English proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a comparable field.
  • At least five years of hands-on background in Financial Analysis, Corporate Accounting, FinOps, or Technology Business Management.
  • Minimum one year in a leadership role managing teams.
  • Strong command of general ledger, cost center allocations, month-end closing, credit amortization and SOX-like controls.
  • Exposure to enterprise programming or scripting languages like Java or Python is beneficial for understanding automated logic.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Slack/Teams, Looker Core Studio, and SQL/BigQuery is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and authorize batches of draft journal entries produced by automated systems, ensuring alignment with the accounting platform.
  • Match raw billing figures against cloud vendor invoices and apply amortization schedules for credits using predefined tables.
  • Administer allocation methodologies across many cost centers and implement re-classification directives to map costs to projects.
  • Collaborate with Finance for quarterly org-space re-forecasts and growth projections.
  • Compare cloud usage costs against contracted revenue with AWS and GCP; verify rates and raise disputes when needed.
  • Cross-check journal entries and cost center sums across old and new systems.

Our team is looking to welcome a Lead Financial Analyst into the fold. In this capacity within the TCO Agent Platform, you'll act as the connective link between cloud finance functions, accounting practices, and AI-driven cost oversight. Partnering closely with the Financial Operations Agent, Commitment Optimization Agent, and FinOps leadership, your duties will span running month-end closing cycles, checking automated journal entries for accuracy, tracking promotional credit amortization, examining allocation variances, and confirming cloud provider billing accuracy.
