A Wabtec Corporation está contratando engenheiro(a) mecânico(a) para atuar presencialmente em Contagem (MG). A função envolve liderar desenvolvimento de conceitos, desenho detalhado e validação para aplicações de locomotivas e veículos de mineração, com foco em estruturas mecânicas, vedações e componentes críticos.

O candidato ideal possui graduação em engenharia mecânica ou áreas correlatas, experiência prática em estruturas mecânicas e fluência em inglês.

Qualifications

• Graduação em Engenharia Mecânica, Aeronáutica, Industrial ou Estrutural.
• Experiência em engenharia de estruturas mecânicas.
• Experiência com estruturas mecânicas, vedações em equipamentos móveis, em ferrovias e/ou mineração.
• Fluência em inglês.

Responsibilities

• Desenho, análise e validação de estruturas mecânicas (rolamentos, caixas de engrenagens, rodas, eixos) e revisão com stakeholders.
• Desenvolvimento de instruções de montagem e monitoramento de constrangimentos, status do projeto.
• Avaliação de fadiga e vida útil - curvas SN de material e soldagem.
• Apoiar a sourcing em qualificações de fornecedores e testes de validação.
• Apoiar a fábrica na resolução de problemas de fabricação e verificação de qualidade.
• Executar projetos de produtividade de serviço e analisar custo versus desempenho.
• Pode desempenhar outras funções conforme necessário.

Who will you be working with?

Our best-in-class Mechanical Drives team maintains deep domain expertise related to Locomotive wheels, axles, gears & gearcases, Off-Highway Vehicle transmission assemblies, bearings, seals, and lubricants. Here you’ll interact with various internal and external customers on a global team of engineers that work together to address real word challenges, create customer specific solutions, and develop innovative & reliable products.

How will you make a difference?

The Mechanical Drives Engineer will collaborate with a global cross functional team to lead concept development, detail design, and validation for both Locomotive applications as well as Off-Highway Vehicles used in the Mining Industry.

What do we want to know about you?

• Bachelor's degree fromin Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Structural Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical structures engineering.
• Experience with mechanical structures, seals on mobile equipment, in rail and/or mining industries.
• Experience with either FEA or bearing calculations (experience in both is a plus).
• Fluent English skills.

What will your typical day look like?

• Mechanical structure (seals, gearcases, wheels, axles, shafts, gears, castings, bearings, housings) design, analysis, and validation leadingdetailed design reviews with internal and/or external stakeholders.
• Developingand preparing instructions for assembly methods and constraints monitoringand communicating project status, business issues, and significant developments.
• Fatigueevaluation and life predictions - parent material SN curves, weld evaluation, etc.
• Supportthe Sourcing function in development and execution of strategic Sourcing initiatives including vendor qualifications and validation testing.
• Supportfactory for equipment builds issue resolution & build quality verification.
• Provideroot cause analysis interfacing with leadership and customer.
• Execute service productivity projects, evaluating performance versus cost trade-offs.
• You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
