We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Controller to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role is ideal for an accounting or finance professional who has strong fundamentals and is ready to take on greater responsibility within a growing finance function.
About the Role
You’ll support the company’s accounting and financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with monthly close, reviewing reconciliations, monitoring AP/AR, and preparing financial reports. You’ll work closely with senior finance leadership and other accounting team members to ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
- Prepare and review account and bank reconciliations.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Review bookkeeping entries and help identify errors or inconsistencies.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with accruals, journal entries, and account classifications.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, payables, and other financial items.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and ensure records are audit-ready.
- Support cash flow tracking and financial reporting.
- Assist with budgeting and budget-to-actual analysis.
- Maintain and update financial and KPI reporting spreadsheets.
- Support external accountants, CPAs, and auditors with requested information.
- Assist with implementing accounting procedures, controls, and process improvements.Identify discrepancies and proactively follow up on outstanding financial items.
- Support senior finance leadership with additional accounting and reporting activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous professional experience in accounting, finance, audit, bookkeeping, or a similar field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial statements.
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
- Familiarity with AP, AR, general ledger, and journal entries.
- Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar accounting software is preferred.
- Ability to review financial information and identify discrepancies.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organization and ability to meet recurring deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal English communication.
- Proactive and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a finance team.
- Experience supporting U.S.-based companies is a plus.
