The Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the company's accounting records and reports.
The position acts as a technical reference within the Accounting function, supporting financial reporting, account analysis, consolidation, closing activities, internal controls, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely accounting for the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
- Prepare, analyze, and consolidate financial statements and accounting reports.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances and discrepancies.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Analyze accounting impacts of transactions, projects, and business initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency.
- Provide accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to management.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes from an accounting perspective.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Solid experience in Accounting or Controllership.
- Experience with financial statements, reconciliations, closing processes, and consolidation.
- Experience in energy or infrastructure companies is preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably TOTVS.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel.
- Spanish is desirable.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to work independently and act as a technical reference for the team.
