Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Junior Full Stack Java Developer in Brazil to contribute to a greenfield Fixed Income platform. You will work across backend and frontend using Java, Spring Boot, HTML/CSS, and modern web technologies, with REST APIs and AI-assisted development.

You will collaborate with tech leads, learn SOLID principles, perform unit tests, participate in agile ceremonies, and grow your skills under mentorship in a supportive fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of Java and Spring, especially Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Basic to intermediate web development with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Familiarity with a modern frontend framework (React/Angular/Vue).
• Interest in Generative AI tools as part of development and learning.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Desenvolvedor Full Stack Java - Junior based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity for a junior developer to contribute to the greenfield development of a new Fixed Income digital platform. You will work across backend and frontend development while building practical experience in modern software engineering. The role combines Java and Spring Boot with contemporary web technologies and RESTful APIs. Generative AI tools will be part of your daily development workflow, supporting coding, testing, learning, and automation. You will work closely with Tech Leads and senior engineers who will provide guidance and mentorship throughout your development journey. Accountabilities

• Support the development and maintenance of RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Contribute to the development of modern web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and contemporary frontend frameworks.
• Use Generative AI tools such as Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot to support coding, learning, testing, and process automation.
• Develop and maintain unit tests under the guidance of more experienced engineers.
• Participate in pull request reviews, applying Clean Code, SOLID principles, and team development standards.
• Document functional flows, API routes, development processes, and environment setup within the project repository.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including daily meetings, planning sessions, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with senior developers and technical leaders to troubleshoot issues, learn best practices, and continuously improve development skills.

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of Java and familiarity with the Spring ecosystem, particularly Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and REST APIs.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of web development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
• Familiarity with at least one modern frontend framework, such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Genuine interest in Generative AI and willingness to use tools such as Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot as part of the development and learning process.
• Basic understanding of software testing, including unit testing with tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Jest, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with Clean Code principles and good software development practices.
• Basic knowledge of relational databases, SQL queries, tables, and relationships.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows, including branches, commits, and pull requests through platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
• Strong curiosity, willingness to learn, and openness to receiving technical feedback and mentorship.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in an Agile, multidisciplinary environment.
• Interest in financial technology and willingness to learn about Fixed Income and Credit products and processes is desirable.
