Job summary

Brunel is seeking a Cost Engineering Specialist to manage project cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across the project lifecycle. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure financial accuracy and informed decision-making.

The role requires strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis skills, with preference for Oil & Gas or offshore project experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience in cost engineering, project cost control, or a similar role.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, engineering, or construction preferred.
• Advanced Excel; experience with ERP or cost management systems desirable.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• AACE, PMP, or CCE certification an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts.
• Track actual costs, commitments, and cost-to-complete (CTC) forecasts.
• Analyze cost variances, identify financial risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare cost reports and performance indicators for project management.
• Review project budgets after contract award and assess scope changes.
• Support invoice verification, purchase order matching, and payment workflows.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulations.

In partnership with one of our clients, a multinational company with a strong presence in the oil and gas industry, we are looking for a Cost Engineering Specialist to manage project cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. The professional will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure financial accuracy and support effective decision-making.
