thyssenkrupp Camshafts is seeking a Controller to lead budgeting, costing, and financial reporting. The role partners with Operations across regions to deliver accurate insights and drive cost optimization.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Accounting/Controlling with at least five years of experience, strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, and the ability to manage closing processes and audits. Occasional travel is expected.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate and maintain financial reporting and internal control systems.
  • Prepare annual business plan, forecasts and long-term financial planning.
  • Oversee cost center budgeting, forecasting and monthly expense monitoring.
  • Coordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting (P&L, BS, forecasts).
  • Analyze deviations in cost, volume, pricing, material, labor and overhead.
  • Partner with Operations to drive productivity, profitability and improvements.
  • Manage product costing, standard costs, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee inventory controlling, valuations and reconciliations.
  • Support tax reporting requirements for state and federal.
  • Ensure controlling activities comply with guidelines.
  • Support audit activities as required.
  • Plan and report capital investments and depreciation.
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and ensure documentation.
  • Review travel expenses for policy compliance.
  • Identify and monitor financial risks and mitigation actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Controller is an essential role of the Finance function within thyssenkrupp Camshafts. This role directs and controls the organization’s internal and external controlling policies and practices. The Controller has primary responsibility to oversee the budgeting, controlling, costing and insurance activities for the organization.

Main Responsibilities

The Controller serves as an engaged and trusted financial business partner within the organization. Success in this role is measured through the achievement of balanced scorecard metrics, including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost. Key responsibilities include:

  • 1- Coordinate and maintain financial reporting and internal control systems that provide management with accurate, timely and relevant financial and operational information.
  • 2- Coordinate with management and cross-functional departments to prepare the annual business plan, forecasts and long-term financial planning, supporting the achievement of the organization’s financial targets.
  • 3- Oversee cost center budgeting, forecasting and monthly expense monitoring, including follow-up of deviations and improvement measures.
  • 4- Coordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, proper documentation and timely submission of financial information.
  • 5- Prepare and coordinate monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including:
    • SAP@Kons P&L and Balance Sheet reporting
    • Forecast and business planning reports
    • Other local, regional and Group reporting requirements
  • 6- Analyze actual, forecast and plan deviations, including volume, sales, pricing, material, labor, manufacturing overhead, G&A, development costs, Net Working Capital and cash flow.
  • 7- Act as a financial business partner to Operations and other functions by translating financial results into actionable insights and supporting productivity, cost reduction, profitability and operational improvement initiatives.
  • 8- Manage the product costing and standard cost processes, including burden rate calculations, cost estimates, cost roll activities, bill of material and routing reviews, and analysis of material, labor and manufacturing overhead variances.
  • 9- Oversee inventory controlling and valuation, including physical inventory activities, inventory reserves, reconciliation of differences, slow-moving and obsolete inventory, and analysis of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods.
  • 10- Support financial reporting requirements for tax purposes (state filings - support local and federal requirements through RHQ).
  • 11- Ensure that all controlling activities are in accordance with Federal, State and Local and ThyssenKrupp guidelines.
  • 12- Support audit activities as required.
  • 13- Responsible for planning, coordination and financial reporting for capital investments and capitalized development, and depreciation.
  • 14- Oversee Balance Sheet accounts and ensure that reconciliations, supporting documentation and follow-up actions are completed accurately and timely.
  • 15- Review travel expenses to be in accordance with the company’s policy.
  • 16- Identify, quantify and monitor financial risks and opportunities, ensuring timely escalation and supporting the development and tracking of mitigation actions.
  • 17- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements.
  • 18- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Education: Minimum a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting/Controlling with a minimum 5 years’ experience in controlling.
  • Experience: Must be business literate, able to communicate on a management level with multiple functions within the organization. Should be proficient of the following areas: US GAAP, IFRS, Product Cost Development, Manufacturing Cost Control, Internal Controls, Auditing, Treasury Functions, and Payroll Administration. Past leadership experience preferred.
  • Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulation; write reports, business correspondence, and procedures; effectively speak in public and present information and respond to questions from all levels of personnel throughout the organization and external groups.
  • Travel: Occasional travel, up to 30% including international, required.
