Job Summary

This position is responsible for maximizing sales and profitability by leading and executing Swissport’s global and regional sales plans for the country. The role involves coordinating sales and commercial activities, ensuring compliance with Swissport’s policies and governance, and achieving revenue, sales, and profit targets in collaboration with the country commercial teams.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term sales strategies across the sub-region.
  2. Provide advice on policies related to pricing, yield improvement, contract negotiation, pipeline development, and sales targets.
  3. Utilize systems to monitor sales performance and manage the new business pipeline.
  4. Contribute to sales development, customer retention, advertising, and pricing strategies for the sub-region.
  5. Design and execute new sales plans to meet sales volume and profitability objectives aligned with strategic plans.
  6. Oversee business development activities, including bid preparations, proposals, and agreements, in accordance with company policies.
  7. Manage the daily activities of the Commercial Team, ensuring alignment with overall sales strategies.
  8. Prepare sales forecasts and budgets; monitor sales, revenues, and costs; identify issues and reallocate resources as needed.
  9. Coach teams on pricing, negotiation, customer service, and sales techniques to meet targets.
  10. Manage tender processes, coordinating input from finance, operations, and HR.
  11. Ensure profitability of new bids through control mechanisms and share development insights with relevant departments.
  12. Assist in developing sales plans for countries and airline customers in line with regional and divisional goals.

Qualifications and Competencies
  • Customer-centric mindset
  • Strategic and conceptual thinking with strong interpersonal skills
  • Background in Airport Ground Handling Services is required
  • Commercial acumen and experience with networking and customer dealings
  • Excellent communication skills, including business writing in English; Spanish is a plus
  • Proven leadership in multicultural environments
  • Track record of achieving results and successful negotiations
  • In-depth industry knowledge
  • Willingness to travel as needed, including overnight stays
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail
