Job summary

Chinachem Group, through its Nina Hospitality unit, seeks a seasoned Building Services Engineer to plan, organize and oversee daily operations of the M&E department in a hotel context. You will manage energy use, prepare budgets, and handle procurement for repair and renovation works.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Services Engineering, a Grade A Electrical Worker registration, and at least five years in hotel engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Building Services Engineering or related disciplines.
• Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker at Grade A.
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar hotel/hospitality role.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of M&E systems; English and Cantonese proficiency.

Job Overview

The position is accountable for planning, organizing and overseeing the daily operation of the department, energy management, prepare & controlling the budget, dealing with contractors regarding quotations, contracts for repair & maintenance, A&A work, renovation works, handling license application and arrangements for all M & E and building repair works and etc.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for preparation and controlling of departmental budgets.
• Manage a team of duty engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure they perform their duties effectively.
• Oversee the inspection and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve any engineering-related issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare procurement requisitions and other engineering-related documents for daily operations.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to recommend innovative solutions.
