A leading company is seeking a Category Management Specialist to develop strategies, analyze market trends, and improve sourcing efficiency. The role involves managing case workflows, preparing sourcing plans, and reporting savings, requiring strong analytical skills and teamwork.
Category Management Specialist
This position involves working closely with sourcing managers to develop category management strategies and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
The category management specialist will be responsible for analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities for cost savings, and recommending solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing intake processes for software and hardware purchases, managing daily case queues, and performing case workflow actions. The category management specialist will also oversee the overall quality of inputs and educate requestors on specific templates for case creation, tagging, and routing.
Another important aspect of the job is building and maintaining client-approved templates to support sourcing events, including RFx templates, proposal evaluation methodologies, and catalog of goods and services.
The category management specialist will work collaboratively with clients to prioritize project pipelines based on key factors and feedback from stakeholders. This includes preparing and finalizing client-approved sourcing strategies and plans, executing sourcing activities, and reviewing competitive bidding results.
Furthermore, the category management specialist will develop and implement an approved annual savings plan, confirm overall savings methodology, and report total savings using the client's savings tracker. This position requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
